Objectives

The main objectives are summarized as follows:

• Developing and distributing approximately 284 Open Courses. Thirty-four of these Courses will comprise video recorded lectures.
• Organizing and operating the support mechanism for the faculty members in order to facilitate them in developing the course material according to the GUNet standards
• Designing the plan concerning the development and improvement of the Open Courses and the educational material of the University of Macedonia. Identifying new quantitative and qualitative objectives.

The overall objective is to strengthen and further promote the advantages offered for the faculty members by exploiting the new opportunities of technology, to create the appropriate support mechanisms and to promote open access.

Therefore the educational process is upgraded, the role of the Academic Institutions is highlighted, since their social impact is advertised in international level.
